BIOGRAPHY
My name is Yembuado Pierre Emmanuel OUOBA, also known as "The Green Artist". I'm an environmental visual artist from Burkina Faso.
I have always been fascinated by art since my childhood, and from the age of 15, I started practicing as a self-taught artist while attending classic school.
But as I was growing up I noticed that I had a special interest in nature. So after completing my secondary education, I decided to study geography at the university with the hope to find satisfaction to my curiosity. There I had the opportunity to study the fundamentals of environment such as climatology, biology, hydrology, geology, etc. It allowed me to understand the deep bond between these different elements and how they influence each other.
After completing my bachelor degree, I then decided to apply the acquired knowledge to my art, by developing environmental topics like climate change, global warming, pollution, the use of natural resources and promoting sustainable solutions like recycling, green energies, etc.
My artworks are the result of a subtle mixture of science and art, expressing in a simple but captivating way the deep message of environmental books and speeches as their visual reflection.
My goal in engaging in environmental art is to cause a change of mindset, convinced like Nelson MANDELA that education is the powerful weapon to change the world.
